The team

Peel Media is responsible for the delivery and management of MediaCityUK.

We’re currently a small team working across a number of key areas, including: real estate, finance, operations (encompassing studios), communications, and business development.

  • Bryan Gray, Chairman

    Bryan Gray was appointed Chairman of Peel Media in November 2008. His previous roles include Chairman of the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman of Baxi Group Limited, and Chairman of Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008. In addition to Bryan’s role at Peel Media, he is also Pro Chancellor of Lancaster University.

  • Sinead Greenaway, Chief Executive

    Sinead joined Peel Media from Virgin Media Television, where she was Operations and IT Director. Having started her career in commercial radio, Sinead has previously held senior roles at Emap PLC and ids (the Virgin Media Television, UKTV and online sales business).

  • Stephen Wild, Director of Real Estate

    Stephen is a Chartered Surveyor and has spent 15 years specialising in the delivery of major commercial and regeneration initiatives. He was previously a Partner at GVA Grimley, and Development Director for Liverpool City Council. In addition to his current role at Peel Media, Stephen is also Managing Director of Manchester Ship Canal Developments.

  • Ed Burrows, Property Director

    Ed is a Chartered Town Planner, and has been with the Peel Group for more than 20 years. He has worked on a range of projects during his career with Peel and was part of the original team which successfully bid for the BBC to move to MediaCityUK.

  • Paul Newman, Head of Communications

    Before joining Peel Media, Paul was Communications Director for Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008. Paul spent 20 years as a broadcaster for BBC News, ITV and Sky News, including three years as sports correspondent for the BBC’s Six O’clock News. From 2000 until 2003, Paul was Director of Communications at the Football Association.

  • Stuart Thorley, Head of Technology (Communications and Infrastructure)

    Before joining Peel Media, Stuart was responsible for the development of Peel Telecommunications, also part of the Peel Group. Stuart was a technical consultant for Cable & Wireless and has worked in the IT/telecommunications industry for 15 years, with experience in a wide variety of roles using many different technologies.

  • Jackie Whalley, Head of Corporate Affairs

    Before joining Peel Media, Jackie was Legal Director at Urban Splash. Prior to that Jackie carried out the same role for AMEC Developments, where she was involved in several major city centre regeneration schemes. Jackie has also worked as a solicitor in private practice specialising in property development, both commercial and residential, for Addleshaw Goddard, DLA Piper and Halliwells.

  • Paul Clennell, Chief Technology Officer

    Paul joined Peel Media from Red Bee Media, where he was Programme Director. Paul’s experience includes two years with BBC Technology working on the refurbishment of all BBC English regions’ radio and bi-media sites. At Red Bee Media, he was responsible for the migration to Broadcast Centre of BBC, UKTV and BBC Worldwide Channels.
