You won't have a problem staying connected at MediaCityUK - in Phase 1 alone we’re installing enough fibre to stretch from Salford to Sydney.

MediaCityUK will be connected to one of the most advanced communications networks in the world, designed and managed by BT Business.

The high capacity network will cater for the bandwidth-hungry requirements of the media industry, offering some of the UK’s fastest data and file transfer speeds.

More than 20 million metres of optical fibre will carry voice, data, high and standard definition video, and wireless communications services. We’ll also be connected to global media and broadcast networks.

Capable of delivering speeds of up to 10 gigabits, MediaCityUK’s infrastructure will support a whole range of different activities, ranging from file sharing to digital signage, cloud computing to building management. And the benefits aren’t limited to work – if you’re living in one of MediaCityUK’s apartments you’ll have access to the very latest technology, including the fastest residential broadband speeds in the UK.

MediaCityUK’s technology advantage reaches far beyond the site’s boundaries. Manchester holds the UK's second internet exchange, and the city has a number of data centres connected to the rest of the world through a range of robust and resilient networks. MediaCityUK will have access to a data facility, as well as core dedicated connectivity built specifically for the media industry.

The north west is already home to a number of global technology companies, including Google, IBM, Cisco and Siemens, who enjoy proximity to the region’s dedicated science & technology parks and five-star research universities.
