Developed by a partnership of Peel Holdings, the North West Development Agency, Salford City Council and Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company, mediacity:uk is Europe's first purpose built Media City - an innovative and creative hub which brings together companies from across the sector in a centre of excellence for the digital media and creative industries.

Situated on Salford Quays, Manchester's waterfront development, mediacity:uk has been selected by the BBC which is making a major investment in a new state-of-the-art facility. It will also be home to a range of new media, technology and creative organisations, from small start-up enterprises through to major corporations. mediacity:uk will encourage and enable innovation and interaction and be a dynamic powerhouse for future growth and development. Supported by major universities and skills providers it will offer research, training and education resources to stimulate talent and competitiveness.

It is expected that mediacity:uk will deliver: £1.5billion annually to the Northwest regional economy; over 15,000 employment opportunities; space for over 1,100 creative and related businesses; and over 1,500 trainee positions every year.

The Managing Director will lead an Executive Management team tasked with the delivery of the scheme from concept to reality. This unique and challenging role will have responsibility for ensuring the successful implementation of the project, involving working with key partners and positioning the vision for mediacity:uk in the market to attract and secure leading edge occupiers.

An exceptional and talented business leader, you will need to demonstrate a highly successful career in the hi-tech media or creative sectors -essential to provide you with the presence and credibility to influence and inspire key industry decision makers. A proven record of managing and coordinating complex projects is essential together with the ability to work in partnership with private sector developers and a range of public sector agencies. A sound commercial understanding of financial performance in the context of infrastructure or development projects is essential.
