Future Stars of MediaCityUK celebrate their success

Salford’s media stars of the future joined forces with BBC Newsround presenter Hayley Cutts and NBA basketball star John Amaechi
The event arranged to celebrate the end of the first year of the MediaCityUK schools programme was hosted by Hayley Cutts and saw partners from the BBC, University of Salford and Salford City Council come together in a showcase event, highlighting the creative work of Salford schools over the past year.
As part of the MediaCityUK Public Sector Partners (PSP) programme, four inspirational schools projects have been funded by Salford City Council, Northwest Regional Development Agency and Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company to help raise the city’s young people’s aspirations and prepare them for the opportunities MediaCityUK will bring to their doorstep.
The programme has already proved a great success in its first year: over 2400 children from across Salford have so far signed up to take part in one or more of the projects.
