Tram incident staged at MediaCityUK

GMPTE and Metrolink construct accident scene

There was a hive of activity at the new tram spur at MediaCityUK yesterday (Sunday 25th July), when transport officials from GMPTE and Metrolink staged a tram crash outside The Pie Factory.

An abundance of emergency services personnel were on hand to rescue passengers (actors) from the scene as calmly and quickly as possible.

The event was staged to give the police, ambulance and fire rescue services the opportunity to familiarise themselves with how best to manage an incident of this nature (if one should occur in the near future).

The lovely Salvation Army turned up to provide refreshments for all.
