About this event

We are proud to announce our first ever Pop-Up Pride here at MediaCity, in support of the Proud 2b Parents, an organisation for LGBT+ parents/ carers and their children across Greater Manchester.

Proud 2b Parents is an inclusive organisation for all routes to parenthood. We are run by and deliver services for LGBT+ parents/ carers to be, LGBT+ parents/carers and their children living in Greater Manchester. Our key aim is to reduce the feeling of isolation many families experience, we also address the lack visibility and awareness of LGBT+ parents/ carers and their children whilst being the voice for the community. We deliver interventions and provision to support our families.

The funding we hope to raise at Pop up Pride, will support us delivering activities and provision to,  reduce isolation and create feelings of belonging within a marginalised community. It will develop connections between the community creating networks of peer support in a safe and inclusive environment. It will also contribute to reducing the impact of the pandemic on children – reducing social anxiety and improving speech and language skills. People are at their best when they can be themselves, our services creates those opportunities.
