Where we can, we encourage people working, living or visiting our destination to travel sustainably and responsibly by offering a range of non-car options. We have listed below a snapshot of the alternative ways in which to get to us. You can also download our destination guide and map.

  • Driving and Parking

    MediaCityUK is only a two-minute drive from the national motorway network (M602) and a ten-minute drive from Manchester City Centre. The postcode for Satnav users is M50 2EQ. The Garage is a multi-storey car park providing 2300 secure parking spaces for occupiers, residents and visitors. It is accessed directly from Broadway and is open 24/7, providing ideal parking for events and leisure activities within the locality. Manchester United Football Club is only a 20 minute walk away. Occupiers, employees and residents can purchase discounted season tickets and allocated spaces in The Garage. In addition, visitors to MediaCityUK can access car parking at the Lowry Outlet or at Harbour City. MediaCityUK also provides:

    • dedicated surface car parking for The Greenhouse and The Pie Factory
    • a surface short-stay pay and display car park for Booths’ customers
    • disabled spaces in The Garage, Booths and on-street within MediaCityUK for a short-stay of up to 2 hours
    • motorcycle parking in The Garage, Lowry Outlet or Harbour City
    • The Lowry Coach Park provides free coach parking for up to 25 coaches. There are drop-off points outside the Lowry Theatre or within MediaCityUK.

  • Tram

    We have a number of Metrolink tram stops at our destination – MediaCityUK, Broadway and Harbour City. Trams are a quick and easy way to reach us. They operate directly from Manchester City Centre and Eccles, which have excellent connections to other tram, rail and bus routes across Greater Manchester, the north west and nationally.   • Train

    The MediaCityUK tram service provides easy connections to national rail stations at Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Deansgate. Salford Crescent Station is also directly connected to MediaCityUK via the CityConnect 50 bus service. Download our detailed train travel pack

  • Bus

    MediaCityUK is served by a number of dedicated bus routes offering journeys to Manchester City Centre, Salford, Salford Crescent Station, Altrincham, Sale and the Trafford Centre. It is easy to connect to bus services to MediaCityUK at both Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester (25 minutes on the x50) and at Salford Crescent (20 minutes on the CityConnect50).   • Cycling and Walking

    MediaCityUK is easy to reach by bike or on foot with direct access to safe and attractive cycling and walking routes. Located in Irwell River Park, many of these routes utilise the Manchester Ship Canal, the River Irwell and the Bridgewater Canal to provide safe traffic-free journeys to/from MediaCityUK.   • Air

    Manchester Airport: Manchester Airport is a 20-minute drive or taxi journey from MediaCityUK via the M602, M60 and M56 (Junction 5) or a 55-minute journey via tram and train from Manchester Piccadilly Station. The airport offers regular direct flights to London and a choice of more than 200 destinations worldwide.

    Helicopter: If you’re looking to get to MediaCityUK in style then we recommend Cardinal – an executive helicopter charter service operated from City Airport Manchester.

    Liverpool John Lennon Airport: Located only a 40-minute drive or taxi journey from MediaCityUK via the M602 and M62, Liverpool John Lennon Airport provides additional national and international flight connections.

  • Water

    A variety of boat services and cruises are available seasonally, including a cruise from The Quays down the Manchester Ship Canal to Liverpool. Contact Salford Tourist Information Centre for details or alternatively visit Mersey Ferries for their latest timetables.

  • Taxi

    The dedicated MediaCityUK taxi pick-up/drop off point is located to the rear of Dock House.  An additional drop-off is also located adjacent to Bridge House/Costa Coffee. We also have a taxi rank outside the Lowry. Local taxi companies include:
