Saturday 16th May -Greater Manchester Swim
Dock 9, Salford Quays

The event welcomes both wetsuit and skins swimmers and offers a range of distances to suit different abilities: 500 m, 1 mile, and 3 miles, plus a 1-mile breaststroke-only race. The 500 m and 1-mile events are open to competent swimmers aged 7–15, making this a popular and accessible introduction to competitive open-water swimming for younger athletes.

19th July – Salford Triathlon & Aquabike

The Salford Triathlon & Aquabike is an annual multi-discipline endurance event held around MediaCityUK and Salford Quays. It is designed to cater to a wide range of athletes — from first-timers to experienced competitors — and combines open water swimming, road cycling, and road running.

The courses are generally flat and fast, using the dock and urban roads around Salford Quays and MediaCityUK — making the event accessible for novice and seasoned participants alike.
