Our waterside screen is back and better than ever! This summer we are showing film classics like Dirty Dancing and Forrest Gump, family favourites including Wicked and Moana 2, plus popular sports including Wimbledon and the Women’s Euros – all completely FREE throughout the summer. You can also catch our ‘This is MediaCity’ weekly podcast episodes on the big screen.

Whether you are popping down on your lunch break, visiting for the day, or fancy a chill by the waterside – our FREE open-air cinema sits right by the water. It’s Salford’s unique waterside cinema, right in the heart of MediaCity.

So, grab a seat, at the best spot in the City!

Escape to the MediaCity Waterside Steps…

Our waterside steps have been given some love this year. We have added extra seating and lovely new planting, and we have greened the steps opposite the screen for extra comfort.

Coming soon is ‘Of Dreaming’ – a beautiful new artwork installation by Salford artists Mike and Sian. It has been inspired by young people’s hopes and dreams, creating a bold three-dimensional piece that will become part of our waterside story.

Perfect for quiet lunch breaks, post-work wind-downs, or weekend exploring – our waterside steps are where Salford’s creativity meets the calm of the water.
