
Marketing Manchester film celebrates next chapter for MediaCity
Lives shaped by the incredible success of Salford’s MediaCity are the focus of a new Marketing Manchester film looking forward to its next exciting chapter.
A highlight of The Lowry’s calendar, the annual Open Day at the Salford Arts Centre is back bigger and better than ever for 2023! The FREE event is being held on Sunday 6th August from 10am to 5pm and will feature a wide range of fun and interactive activities for visitors of all ages.
From sneak-peak backstage tours, stand-up comedy to a Hip Hop and breakin’ jam, family-friendly gallery tours – led by some of LS Lowry’s most well-loved characters and an LS Lowry Gin Masterclass, to music & dancing on the Plaza to life-drawing – there’s so much to see and do.
Some of The Lowry’s Partner companies Rambert, Birmingham Royal Ballet, The National Theatre will be running free workshops and offering opportunities to get hands-on. Plus, there’s cupcake making, outdoor games, crafty-families, story-telling – and much more!
There will also be the chance to see Julia and Axel: 30 Years of Favourite Stories; a free family-friendly exhibition in our Galleries celebrating the acclaimed picture-book partnership between Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
Some events need to be pre-booked, but many are drop-in and completely free on the day.

MediaCityUK-based On The Eighth has produced a national radio campaign to encourage candidates to sign up and discover the ‘Easy Way to Find Your Perfect Job’.
Olympic Gold medal winning hockey player Sam Quek and England and Lions rugby star Ugo Monye have also been announced as team Captains of the much loved show, which is filmed at dock10 studios, in MediaCityUK.
When it comes to skills development and creating local employment opportunities, The University of Salford and Peel L&P have a long-standing relationship and a track record of success. However, by working even closer together, both organisations realise that even more can be achieved to secure true economic prosperity for current and future generations.
