Imagine what happens when imagination takes over?

Imagination has morphed into reality for six of Salford’s digital creatives who have collaborated to create MediaCity’s most ambitious audio-visual projection yet to mark the start of BEYOND – the world’s leading conference for research and innovation in the creative industries.
The stellar line-up made up of MediaCity and wider Salford based creative trailblazers are staging an ‘imagination revolution’ in its famed Piazza with unique audio visual projections enlivening MediaCity’s iconic glass fronted studios throughout the BEYOND 25 conference from 24 – 26 November.
The creative intervention showcases talent including;
  • Noelle Nurdin – an electronic producer, spatial audio and AV artist whose work explores reinvigorating live electronic performance through her implementation of immersive technologies such as spatial audio, augmented reality and motion reactivity in the form of artist-led immersive live performances.
  • Bradley Harris, CEO Krygon Studios – Harris leads Krygon Studios, a Manchester-based digital art and animation company specialising in high-end character animation and 3D art production, delivering work across a diverse range of sectors including games, TV, film and virtual production, contributing to globally recognised projects and franchises such as Disney, UFC, the Las Vegas Sphere and Ghost Town Games.
  • Matt McHugh, Founder and MD Thunderhawk – Salford University graduate, McHugh has firmly established Thunderhawk as one of the North’s leading motion studios, specialising in 3D, VFX and AI. He boasts a roll call of illustrious clients from Manchester United to Hasbro and JD Sports.
  • Supermassive – a Salford based collective of artists and engineers who work with new, immersive light technologies to spread joy and wonder.
  • Callum Simmons a Manchester-born fine artist, illustrator. He is most known for his extensive exploration of subject, dimensionality and colour.
  • Richard Tyson, Creative Director, Helix – a Salford based immersive storyteller producing interactive installations and large scale audio visual film for cultural venues and live audiences worldwide. Helix blends emerging technology with traditional filmmaking to craft experiential narratives.
Working with artist duo Illuminos, creators of visually inventive and memorable projection artworks, their work has converged as a masterpiece for locals and international visitors alike to enjoy.
Caroline Aikman, MediaCity Place and Marketing said: “This projection is an incredible celebration of Salford’s homegrown talent who work across tech, audio and fine art practices to produce a piece of immersive art that’s holds no bounds. The outcome is emotive, spellbinding and surprising. Our commissioned createchs have let their imagination run free and perfectly epitomises the spirit of the BEYOND conference.”
