MediaCityUK based homebuilder Northstone expands its team
As Northstone submits planning applications for more residential sites across the North West, the sustainable homebuilder and place maker whose headquarters are based in the Arrive workspace in MediaCityUK’s White Tower, has welcomed three new recruits to bolster their commercial and development teams.
The recruitment drive follows the launch of its first Huddle marketing suite and show homes at Silkash in Westhoughton, Bolton, with the trio joining the growing MediaCityUK based home building team.
Chris Okey has joined as Managing Estimator from Placefirst Construction Ltd. Now in his fifteenth year as an estimator, Chris has worked within a broad spectrum of estimating disciplines including construction, property and landscaping.
Also joining are Chris Pells as Architectural Manager and James Forrington as Engineering Manager. With experience at Bellway Homes and Miller Homes, James makes his move from Keepmoat Homes and will be responsible for managing the engineering inputs to the sites from land acquisition through design, construction and final adoption.
Chris Pells also joins from Placefirst Construction Ltd where he was a Chartered Architectural Technologist. He will work alongside Richard O’Brien and Ben Canning to design upcoming sites in Ellesmere Port, Bolton and Wigan.
Speaking on his appointment, Chris Pells said: “It is certainly an exciting time to being joining Northstone as we eagerly await the works at the second site at Keld in Barrowford to begin. In such uncertain times for employment in the UK, I’m eager to get started in my new role and look forward to being part of the Northstone journey.”
Launched in October 2018 to create exceptional homes, stylish environments and places for modern living for future generations, Northstone currently has homes available to view and purchase at Silkash, Westhoughton. Providing a mix of two, three and four bed-homes to help meet local housing needs, the site has created 160 construction jobs and apprenticeship opportunities to support skills and the local economy.
Craig Nutter, Northstone’s Commercial Director said: “As we begin to progress in Barrowford and await planning approvals for sites in Ellesmere Port, Wigan and Bolton, it is certainly exciting and busy times ahead at Northstone. It’s a pleasure to welcome Chris, James and Chris to the team, we’re confident their experience will help us to deliver more well-designed and energy-efficient family homes across the region.”
Northstone’s homes are led by thoughtful and modern design inside and out with super-fast broadband, electric vehicle charging capability and smart household technology to help residents significantly reduce their energy bills.
