The Landing To Host Special ‘Women Only’ User Experience Workshop

Ladies that UX event to feature MoneySuperMarket’s Louise Rowlands as guest speaker.

Ladies that UX (LTUX), a rapidly growing global network of User Experience (UX) and marketing professionals which started in Manchester in 2013, is hosting a special UX evening workshop at The Landing’s SPACE Labs on April 15th.

Featuring guest speaker Louise Rowlands, Customer Research Manager at MoneySuperMarket.com, the session will focus on  a wide range of UX techniques and insights including user experience consultancy, facilitated lab based testing, managing stakeholders and conversion rate optimisation.

Aimed specifically at female UX professionals, brand managers and marketing consultants, the event follows the first national LTUX conference, Talk UX, which was held in Manchester last month. As part of the event, which was hailed a great success by both organisers and delegates, the SPACE Labs demonstrated the latest in eye tracking technology.

Jon Parker, Director of the SPACE Labs, said of forthcoming LTUX event: “Often the world of UX is seen as something just for geeky blokes and techies, whereas everyone interested in understanding their customer needs to embrace this rapidly emerging discipline.

“When we met the LTUX team at Talk UX recently we realised that they are successfully changing perceptions of this predominantly male-dominated industry, and it’s great that they have chosen The Landing’s UX Labs for this special event.”

LTUX founder Lizzie Dyson said: “We noticed several years ago that across the UX sector there was a real lack of women both at a mid-level and more senior roles within the industry. We therefore set up Ladies that UX to create a space for female UX professionals to meet, discuss and discover new ideas, network and share experiences.

“Three years on and we’ve built a friendly, welcoming and collaborative community of UX and marketing practitioners, and now have over 20 groups worldwide.

“I’m delighted that we’ve managed to get someone of Louise’s calibre to be our guest speaker. The combination of her insights gained at MoneySuperMarket, Jon’s unrivalled UX expertise and the fantastic facilities at the SPACE labs means we have an excellent evening in store”.
