MediaCity is gearing up for the grand opening of its first ever Irish pub The Salmon of Knowledge, set to open to the public on 8th August.
The buzzing pub promises to deliver the same unbeatable atmosphere, great food and unmistakable charm that has put the brand on the map after a successful debut in the Northern Quarter. The Salmon of Knowledge in MediaCity will open with a packed schedule of traditional and contemporary live acts, as well as sporting events shown on the big screen.
The Salmon of Knowledge is backed by the very same ownership team behind the much-loved Dockyard, which after 13 years serving Salford Quays, closed its doors on 4thJune. It’s not a brand-new takeover; it’s more like a fresh new chapter. Joe Foster, Managing Director of Northern Lights Group, who is behind the original Dockyard and the brains behind the other Salmon locations is at the helm, making sure the same local soul and community spirit lives on, just with a bit more Irish charm this time round.
On opening day (8th August), the first 100 pints of Guinness and 100 Spice Bags will be free. Supplied by food partner, The Last Stop, Spice Bags have become a fan-favourite of the bar and feature skin on fries, tossed in house seasoning with buttermilk chicken tenders, fried onions and sliced chillies
Stephen Kirk, Head of Asset Management at MediaCity said: “The Salmon of Knowledge is one of the many businesses joining us at MediaCity during our phase of growth and we’re particularly proud to be supporting homegrown talent, after their successful debut in the Northern Quarter. We are confident that the new opening will help us work towards our aim of bettering our spaces, not just for businesses, but also for our residents and visitors.”
Joe Foster, Managing Director of Northern Lights Group, the team behind The Salmon of Knowledge said: “We’ve felt the love in the Northern Quarter, and now it’s time to bring the magic to MediaCity. Salford’s got soul, and we can’t wait to add to the soundtrack with great tunes, great food and, of course, great Guinness.”
Guests can look forward to an expanded offering of live music and sports, expertly crafted cocktails, a wide selection of Guinness, and over 40 premium Irish whiskeys. All this is complemented by the warm hospitality and vibrant atmosphere that have made the original location a beloved destination for locals, expatriates, and visitors from around the world. The Salmon of Knowledge are proud to have partnered with Irish brewing legends Franciscan Well to bring all four of their core beers to the people of Manchester including: Shandon stout, Rebel Red, Chieftain and Well Hazy.
