Designed as a low traffic environment, MediaCity provides easy walking and wheeling opportunities across the estate and wider area, as well as accessible via two routes on the Metrolink.

Apps available

When you’re on the move, your smartphone is often the most convenient way to get up to date information. There’s a wide variety of travel apps out there, from bike hire to route planners. Find your perfect match here:

Bee Network: The recently introduced Bee Network app enables users to track real-time departures for local buses and trams across Greater Manchester. You can browse various ticket options and buy bus and tram tickets within the app, though you’ll have to buy train tickets at the station or via other websites.

Beryl: Starling Bank Bike Cycle Hire offers yellow bikes and e-bikes throughout Greater Manchester through the Beryl app. With Beryl, you can locate the closest bikes/e-bikes on the map, unlock them, and start your ride. Beryl provides various payment options, allowing regular users to either purchase upfront minute bundles for savings or opt to pay-as-you-ride.

Bolt: For journeys where it’s unavoidable to travel by car, Bolt is a ridesharing service offering cheap journeys, and you even have the option to select an electric vehicle. Drivers are charged a fair commission rate and can weave you through the streets of Manchester to your destination in no time.
