
Bupa signs up for switch to new building
Bupa today revealed a three-year plan to move its Salford Quays operation to a new base.
Digital media production company Badger & Combes has been appointed by Peel Media as its official digital production partner as the growing company relocates to a new bespoke premise within the heart of MediaCity.
Peel Media first supported Badger & Combes in early 2020 by providing a base in MediaCity’s original incubator hub – The Greenhouse, for founder Colin McKevitt to launch an enterprise with ambitions to support production post-graduates in gaining hands-on experience on real life projects within the industry.
In just two years more than 80 students from The University of Salford, University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) and other institutions from across the North West have passed through its doors working on projects for clients including: Lancashire Cricket, BBC, Betfred Super League, Steamforged Games and Peel L&P. Central to Badger & Combes’ ethos is providing a talent pathway for post graduates while also growing a core team of 15 who are permanently based at MediaCity.
As RTS award winners in 2021 for its streaming of United we Stream, Badger & Combes has again been shortlisted for the forthcoming RTS award this year for its work with Lancashire County Cricket Club in the Best Digital Creativity category.

Badger & Combes appointment will see the team deliver MediaCity’s series of industry-led Spotlight on events as well produce digital content and manage MediaCity’s network of screens including the giant screen in the Piazza.
Badger & Combes is based on level one of The Garage.

Orega have opened their newest Business Centre in Manchester’s hottest new destination, MediaCityUK. Home of ITV, BBC and over 200 smaller businesses, MediaCityUK has quickly become a prominent destination with a reputation of being the creative and digital hub of the North.
There will be no trams running on the Eccles via MediaCityUK line from 26 June. Trams will resume running between Deansgate-Castlefield and MediaCityUK from early August. Services on the rest of the line will resume from late August.
