MediaCityUK buildings named best for connectivity in the North
MediaCityUK buildings have officially been rated as the first Wired Certified Platinum buildings in the North of England, for their best in class broadband and telecoms infrastructure, making them the ideal location of choice for all businesses.
MediaCityUK’s Orange, Blue, White and Tomorrow buildings have been hailed within the top ten per cent of properties across the UK and United States, by the international digital connectivity rating scheme, WiredScore. The organisation recognises and encourages best practice in the technological infrastructure of commercial developments.
The Wired Certification provides a trusted mark, to help understand what necessary investments are needed to achieve best in class connectivity.
This independent benchmark also provides greater transparency for occupiers to help them make an informed decision before choosing a place for their business.
Among the key buildings at MediaCityUK to have achieved the Wired Certified Platinum rating is Orange. The nine-storey, 158,758 sq ft building, overlooking the MediaCityUK piazza and waterfront, is home to ITV, Ericsson and the University of Salford. It was awarded a Wired Certified Platinum rating for providing five unique sources of high-speed fibre, ensuring high speed and reliable internet access for its occupiers.
Stephen Wild, Managing Director of MediaCityUK said: “As a leading space provider for digital technology and broadcasting occupiers, connectivity and telecoms are major priorities. It’s fantastic to receive such a prestigious endorsement for MediaCityUK as a business destination. Being one of the first in Manchester to score Wired Certified Platinum is an enormous achievement and what’s great is that a whole host of occupiers will be able to benefit from this in the space we have available across the buildings.”
William Newton, EMEA Director at WiredScore said: “MediaCityUK has become an epicentre of the North’s digital and creative companies. With digital technologies at the heart of so many of its occupiers’ businesses, the significant investment that MediaCityUK has made will ensure that these companies have connectivity infrastructure which not only meets their tech needs today, but is future-proofed to support their continued digital evolution.”
MediaCityUK’s communications network is managed by dock10, the leading UK media facilities company, based at the heart of MediaCityUK.
