MediaCity’s Screen on the Docks has been extended due to popular demand until the end of September, showing CBeebies and CBBC favourites and sport. Popular outdoor dining concept Kargo on the Docks is hosting its first ever Retro Rewind Silent Disco, as well as a FREE Comedy Night, plus Tai Chi and lunch time Silent Meditation workshops.
The summer holidays might be over, but MediaCity’s jam-packed events programme continues throughout September with a range of family friendly activities and attractions for all age.
The brand-new waterside Screen on the Docks has been extended by popular demand, showing CBBC and CBeebies favourites including the Horrible Histories Movie, Gangster Granny Strikes Again, and BBC Philharmonic’s The Musical Story of the Gingerbread Man, plus popular sports, including the Paralympics, for FREE throughout September.
Families can enjoy the new hang-out space a little longer while enjoying fresh local food and drink from Super Fry Guys, A Few Scoops and the Pimm’s Bar.
At Kargo On The Docks, visitors can enjoy a FREE Comedy Night featuring Ben Hodge and an exciting
lineup of comedians. Visitors can also take part in a range of craft and wellness activities including a
Silent Meditation lunchtime session in the serene setting of MediaCity’s gardens – or groove through
the decades at the first ever Retro Rewind Silent Disco!
At Quayside, families can catch the last of the summer sun at the Kargo.MKT waterside terrace and
enjoy all that Central Bay has to offer including its 20 international kitchens, plus a brand-new
Japanese kitchen, Dora Sushi located within the outside containers by the waterside. And for the little
ones, Kargo.MKTs popular mini disco series returns with Tangled and Disney Princess themed parties
on Saturday mornings.
And that’s not all – theatre fans can enjoy visiting the new Queens: The Exhibition, featuring a display
of all six iconic costumes from the hit show Six the Musical, or take in the most famous working TV
set in the world at the Coronation Street Experience.

Screen On The Docks will be showing favourites from CBBC and CBeebies on weekdays at 10.30am,
including the Horrible Histories Movie, Gangster Granny Strikes Again and BBC Philharmonic; The

September, including the last of the Paralympics.
Visitors can enjoy fish and chips from SuperFry Guys and ice-cream from A Few Scoops while taking in
the last of the summer sun with a Pimm’s in hand.
Popular outdoor dining concept Kargo on the Docks continues to serve up fresh, independent street
food this September from its signature re-imagined shipping containers. Foodies can enjoy street food
from Salford’s favourite traders including Parmogeddon, So Famous, Flock Steak Shop and ThatZiki, as
well as the Honey Butter Ring Hut from Leopard Pie, while taking in a range of local artwork from
Salford-based creatives including Fernandes Makes, Kelly Ma, Caroline Daly and MikeSian Studios.
Music lovers can step back in time and groove through the decades at the Retro Rewind Silent Disco.
With three channels of the greatest hits from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, ticket holders can dance their
way through disco, new wave, and pop classics all night long. Whether you’re a fan of bell-bottoms,
neon leg warmers, or flannel shirts, this is your chance to relive the music that defined an era. Tune
in, switch it up, and get ready to boogie, moonwalk, or grunge out to your favourite throwback jams!

with a 30-minute meditation session. Think silent disco vibes, but cool, calm and collected. Choose

This is a fun and social paint experience with a party feel for all levels of abilities. Australian artist and
muralist, Yasmin Shima will teach the group to paint their very own masterpiece to take away, with
step-by-step guidance and tips and techniques learned from years of experience. Keeping the party
up will be DJ Benny Blanco.

Language and accent enthusiasts can join Masters trained Voice Coach Rosemary Berkon whose work
includes coaching West End actors, rising star screen actors and associations with prestigious drama
schools to learn the techniques that will bring anyone closer to their own voice and give them the
ability to switch accents.

Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that promotes physical and mental wellbeing. Children will learn

its creators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss. The new exhibition will ask ‘What kind of Queen are you?’
and will start with a celebration of the hit musical SIX, including for the first time in this country a
