First three occupiers look forward to Tomorrow at MediaCityUK

MediaCityUK’s newest creative and tech workspace, Tomorrow, is welcoming its first three occupiers – a leading connectivity provider, a radio production company and a design agency.

Following its launch in September 2016, Tomorrow has proved popular with current MediaCityUK-based companies and new occupiers alike.  New to MediaCityUK and the first confirmed occupiers is Global Capacity, a leading US connectivity as a service company. With multiple offices across the US including California, Illinois and Texas, Global Capacity will run its UK operations from a 2,227 sq ft office on the first floor of Tomorrow, delivering network connectivity solutions to telecommunication carriers and managed service providers.

Already familiar with MediaCityUK and expanding its operations is independent radio production company, Audio Always. Formerly based in The Greenhouse, the business has seen exponential growth since launching as a start-up at MediaCityUK in 2012 and is now moving into a 957 sq ft space in Tomorrow. The suite comprises two studios, specifically designed for delivering voiceover sessions, interviews and audio post production.

Branding and digital agency, Carbon Creative is the third confirmed occupier for MediaCityUK’s Tomorrow project. Currently with 14 staff and ambitious recruitment plans for 2017, the eco-friendly design consultants wanted a more spacious home for their creative headquarters and a location more central to the creative hub of MediaCityUK.

Stephen Wild, Managing Director, MediaCityUK, said: “The first tranche of occupiers for Tomorrow represent an eclectic mix of key players in the creative and tech markets. It’s great to see the vision of MediaCityUK as an ecosystem for start-ups come to fruition, progressing to larger spaces as they thrive.”

“Equally, Tomorrow is attracting new occupiers like Global Capacity, who are worldwide players in the connectivity sector, and recognise the immense benefits that come from being positioned here as Manchester continues to lead the way in this sector.”

Commenting on the move to Tomorrow, Stuart Morgan, Director at Audio Always said: “This is a really exciting move for Audio Always and our sister company, On The Eighth. Our studios in Tomorrow will enable us to provide our clients with more flexibility in terms of recording and production facilities, and we are very much looking forward to expanding our services within the MediaCityUK community.”

Kate Hadfield, Studio Director at Carbon Creative said:”We looked at a number of spaces across Manchester but the Tomorrow building tugged our hearts. MediaCityUK is the first development in the world to obtain BREEAM Sustainable Community status which is credit to the planning and architecture of the buildings, and very much of interest to us at Carbon. We also love the plan for collaborative spaces and hot-desking areas on the ground floor which we are looking forward to making use of.”

The Tomorrow building comprises eight floors of creative workspace and a 112-bed Premier Inn over a further four floors. The fit-out has already commenced on Ziferblat, an independent, creative co-working space and pay-per-minute sitting room, which will occupy 6,000 sq ft over Tomorrow’s ground floor and mezzanine levels.
