Marketecture hits the note for Manchester Jazz Festival
MediaCityUK-based integrated b2b agency, Marketecture has completed a brief to build a brand new website for the Manchester Jazz Festival which is celebrating its 20th festival this year.
The agency was appointed by festival organisers to invigorate the overall creative approach to the print assets, outdoor advertising and other branding for this year’s event to drive awareness and increase footfall as well as delivering a new website with better support for mobile and tablet users.
Manchester Jazz Festival marketing manager, Diane Herrod said: “A key focus of the Manchester Jazz Festival is to make the appeal of the event as broad as possible so more people can enjoy the excellent music and atmosphere. It is essential for us to reach out to local, UK and international jazz enthusiasts as well as those interested in culture, arts and music.”
Marketecture developed a ’20 summers of jazz’ concept to draw visitors into the 20th festival celebrations using its links with Manchester School of Art to develop a signature piece for the festival.
Undergraduates produced, painted and sculpted works representing 20 jazz tracks from artists in this year’s festival. A piece by Sophie Hill, a foundation year student, was chosen and this was incorporated into the creative developed for the festival marketing.
Diane adds: “The visuals are eye-catching and are in tune with the quality of the music that will be showcased at the event and we are grateful to all of the students for their contributions. The enthusiasm shown by the Marketecture team and the fantastic website has given us complete confidence that they will successfully raise awareness and grow the Manchester Jazz Festival brand, so I look forward to seeing the results.”
Manchester Jazz Festival is the city’s longest running music festival, and takes place this year from 31 July to 09 August. Over 80,000 people are expected to visit the 10 festival venues and in the first week since launching the new website and sending out the new brochures, ticket income from sales has already risen 300% on the same period last year.
Marketecture digital director Jasper Hegarty-Ditton said: “Manchester Jazz Festival is a fantastic event that showcases more than 400 local, national and international artists in iconic venues across the city. We worked closely with the team at Manchester Jazz Festival to provide them with the creative assets and a visual and functional website that they need to deliver the 2015 event with a real bang. In the run up to event, we will also be supporting them with digital displays around Manchester, motion videos and merchandise as well as providing on-going web support as new content and updates are released.”
“We are proud to be part of a genuinely exciting local event that is growing in popularity and attendance year-on-year and we look forward to maintaining a strong and long-lasting relationship with the organisers.”
