MediaCityUK opens first ever hair salon
MediaCityUK’s resident beauty therapist, Sam Marshall, The Beauty Guru, is expanding to provide the city with its first full-service hair and beauty salon.
Currently running a successful beauty salon in The Greenhouse at the heart of MediaCityUK, Sam offers a range of treatments for male, female and transgender clients, and the unisex hair salon, The Hair Gurus, will continue this diverse offer.
The Hair Gurus will offer new and existing clients hairdressing and barbering services, as well as specialist beard grooming treatments. What’s more, Sam and her team will provide special ‘express’ services for those fitting in appointments on lunch breaks or between meetings.
She said: “MediaCityUK has really embraced The Beauty Guru brand and I have had an overwhelmingly positive first year here. Having built up a strong, regular and hugely diverse client base, I found that there is strong demand for hair treatments among the media professionals that work and visit here and I am excited to expand the business to meet that demand.”
“Being based in a creative media hub as opposed to a typical high street salon means my clients are often short on time and need high quality, regular treatments in their field of work to look and feel their best at all times. The ‘express’ treatments as well as early and late appointments mean I can offer a lot of flexibility and be on hand outside of normal hours to make life easier – I’ve even done desk treatments for special occasions.”
The Hair Gurus, MediaCityUK, is opening on 7th March and will be located within The Greenhouse, just next to The Beauty Guru. Stylist Jay Michael (pictured) will be taking bookings for Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Prices start from £15 for a blow-dry and £30 for a colour. Fringe trims will be continuously free of charge and barbering services start at £10. As a special launch offer, all barbering appointments will be just £10 in the first week only and clients will receive 20% off first visits for all other hair services.
Lynn Haime, Asset Manager at MediaCityUK said: “It’s great to see a start-up business like The Beauty Guru thrive and expand in The Greenhouse. The popularity of her beauty salon has meant she is doubling her business without any external investment – purely through the success of her first venture. We look forward to seeing further growth with The Hair Gurus, which complements the range of health and wellbeing offers already here, such as physiotherapy, hypnotherapy and Pilates”
